So this was my 1st (ish?) attempt at this. I tried it once and ended up peeling all the layers off because it looked too neon. 

This paint job was done with very little food coloring (think - the less, the better) and a very generous first layer. I probably didn’t need a second layer.

Last night I tried this with smaller candlestick holders and just plain Elmer’s glue. I think this will look summery with some turquoise candlesticks I got as a housewarming last year. Pics of this to follow, pending the outcome.
